Yes my friend, all of the LORs (no matter which school) should be backed up with specific examples. Why? Because there are only so many words out there. Creativity, leadership, inspirational, smart, etc. Every recommender will use…all of these words in all the LORs. Therefore, be specific! Don’t just say that the applicant is smart. Say “This applicant is smart. I remember the time that he built a dog out of rope and steel.” See that? NOW we have a good reason to BELIEVE this guy. Otherwise, he is just repeating the same information as eeeveryone else. Using the same words, so that they have no real meaning…
