首先，感谢LZ，但是我对第四句的观点还是confused。查了下资料 “as引导限制性定语从句时,构成“the same ... as ...”, “such ... as ...”, “as many (much, few, little) ... as ...”等结构? as可替代先行词,在从句中作主语?表语?宾语或状语；” 如：I have never heard such a story as he is telling. 我从来没有听见过像他正在讲述的这种故事? LZ举例中either这里as...as, such...as是定语从句？但是并不构成完整的从句啊！
另外，不同意4楼GO BLUE寂静的看法，第四句并不是比较的介词词组，比较的是“a worldwide sensation”，即其他时间造成的轰动效应不如1910年造成的。 觉得和第三句是一样的，比较的是“many changes at once ”，即其他时间面对的变化不如1986年来的多。
而查了OG12_41题：than的宾语比较 To develop more accurate population forecasts, demographers "have to know a great deal more than now about the social and economic" determinants of fertility. （冒号为划线部分） (A) have to know a great deal more than now about the social and economic (D) would have to know a great deal more than they do now about the social and economic 答案是“D”，GMAC的解释是“the comparison made by the sentence must be between current and conditional knowledge, not between knowledge and time of knowing (now)”
不能算牛牛，复习总结的规律是，凡是主谓宾比较的，那么就需要补出助动词，LZ的例子1-3都是这种情况；不补出的话有歧义。比例I eat apple faster than you 和 I eat apple faster than you do； 明显第二个比第一个更清楚，我吃苹果比你吃的快，第二个可能会被误解成我吃苹果比吃你快；
如果只主谓比较，那么可以不补出助动词比例：I eat more than you；
