Agree or disagree?
If child want to do well in school, parents should limit the hours ofwatching TV programs or movies。
It is generally accepted that watching TV programs or movies is an essential ingredient of people’s entertainment. Many children are getting obsessed with colorful television programs and movies. Restricting their time of watching television and movies is an effective way to enable that they perform well in school.
Firstly, watching television programs and movies too much can be quiet distracting. It reduces the time and efforts children devote to their study, thus bringing a negative effect on their performance in school. For example, in the evening, students are supposed to be doing their home work. But some of them continuously watch TV and forget to accomplish their assignments. In the next day, they still think about the context of programs or movies saw last night in the classroom and do not pay attention to what the teachers are talking about. If they do this for a long time, they will certainly become addicted to television programs. Can you guess the ultimate results? They fail to pass the exam glaringly, not to mention gaining a satisfactory result.
In addition, children always lack sense of self-control. It is their parents’ responsibility for preventing their kids from watching television too long. Do not expect that children will manage themselves very well. To be honest, compared to television programs, study is quiet dull. Most school children tend to do things they think are interesting and exciting repeatedly. They cannot control themselves. It is their nature. Therefore, it is worthwhile and urgent to limit the hours of their kids spent in watching even at the expense of children’s dissatisfaction.
Admittedly, sometimes students can benefit from television program and movies. For example, watching documentary film helps children expand their outlook and understand the history better. Other people also argue that watching television and movies is quiet beneficial to children because it helps them removes the anxiety and pressure. More relaxed students are, the better performance they will achieve. However, the benefits stated above are true only when the length of watching TV is limited, otherwise drawbacks certainly outweigh benefits.
In summary, getting obsessed with watching television and movies reduces students’ interests in study and put a limit on their performance. It is very essential for parents to control the time of watching television. I firmly believe that this control enables the students to keep a balance between entertainment and study and to excel other students in exams. |
