OG 11-51 官方解释

'In that' is a conjunction that means inasmuch as; because 'in that' has largely gone out of use, it is considered stileted and overly formal. It also uses two words when one would do.

这到底是在说in that好还是不好啊？看不懂了。。前句话好像是说out of use，但最后一句话好像是说用两个词>一个词？

请大家指点。。。

In this sentence, the second clause explains the first one, so the conjunction  for, meaning because, is the most appropriate choice for joining the two independent clauses of the compound sentence.

我理解是in that,gone out of use,

because in that means inasmush as (inasmuch=since)，太过正式

后面这句，It also uses two words when one would do

我理解，意思说，当可以用一个词for时，用两个词 in that 有点多余

如og 解释中所说的一样，stilted.

但是以前的思路好像是说in that比because更清晰啊。。。而且GMAT不就是考书面用语么？书面用语当然比较正式了。。。难道思路错了？？

到了GMAT考试中 就被算做 语法或者逻辑错误～

所以，根据OG和前面所有题的经验 选 正确率会高很多～
