The alliance with the Johnson School of Management will connect elite Chinese business leaders from CKGSB with Cornell's world-class faculty.
January 19, 2011 | Ithaca, NY -- Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB), China's leading business school, today announced a partnership with Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management, which is consistently ranked as one of the top graduate schools of business in the United States. Specific areas of collaboration will include MBA student exchange, a certificate program hosted by the Johnson School for an EMBA outbound group from CKGSB, a joint energy certificate program for senior executives from the Chinese energy sector in Ithaca, and a commitment from the Parker Center of Investment Research and other centers at Johnson to serve as advisors for the setup of the China Investment Fund at CKGSB. Officials from the two schools praised the agreement as a way to share knowledge and increase cooperation among Chinese and American business leaders. "Our partnership with Johnson will help students of both schools become better prepared for the increasingly globalized business world," said CKGSB Assistant Dean Zhou Li. "This collaboration will further Johnson's footprint in China, particularly among the elite business leaders in that region," added Chen Yaru, Nicholas H. Noyes Professor of Management and Global Business at the Johnson School, who is also a senior research fellow at CKGSB. About Johnson at Cornell University Founded in 1946, the Johnson School is Cornell University's graduate school of management. Consistently ranked as one of the top graduate schools of business, the Johnson School builds upon Cornell's depth and breadth of distinguished research and teaching, and its vast, worldwide network of alumni, faculty, and colleagues. The school's "performance learning" approach offers students defined frameworks and analytical tools, combined with expert feedback to solve real problems in real organizations. Deliberately small and extremely selective, the Johnson School maintains an intense, collaborative community, where students develop teamwork and networking skills that foster innovation and deliver results. Programs include one- and two-year MBA degrees, an Executive MBA and the Cornell-Queen's Executive MBA, which offers interactive videoconferencing sessions across the U.S. and Canada.
