After I read that post, I feel obliged to let you all know that every applicant should trust yourself and no one will do better than yourself. Most of time, people needs consultant because they lack expertise on it--but here for application for graduate schools, there is simply no expertise at all; on the contrary, this is 100% personal endeavour.
The ability to learn and explore yourself is critical in your life. #1. Get on-line and study yourself, google it!!! Read school's website line by line #2. Ask around for anyone in the same interests or have experience in it. #3. Email school's staff, professor, student or simply call them directly.
One FATAL mistake about asking 中介 for help is not about wasting money and wasting your own opportunities, it is about the fact that you will get used to ask for people's help when it is totally unnecessary and you will get used to being lazy, count on others, think money solves all and etc. That is the hidden danger for all students who want to study abroad alone.
Act on day one and trust that you can do anything if you really wanted. Forgive my typos and etc. above.
This post is to respond to the post initiated by wisfan. I saw some one said "DIY到吐血的人飘过.... DIY的时候也是各种迷茫 烦躁 自信心低落 " --you know what, you thought you will not "各种迷茫 烦躁 自信心低落" when you study master in a rigorous program, you thought you will not "各种迷茫 烦躁 自信心低落" when you look for Investment Bank jobs after your graduation, you thought you will not "各种迷茫 烦躁 自信心低落" when you find yourself stuck in a corporate ladder and have no ideas of what to do next? --in short, 中介 IS FOR LOSERS!
