请教：关于Columbia的Early Decision

Early Decision 要求在收到offer的两周内表态并汇款，而且据说一旦学生commit了，它们会给其它所有学校发通知，表示这个学生已经是Columbia的了。
那么，这个Early Decision一般会在什么时候发offer？早于HBS / Wharton这些学校吗？

什么时候发offer取决于你什么时候提交申请和面试，好象是提交申请的12周以内，可以自己查一下。但一般会早于HBS/WHARTON，如果比他们晚，你觉得ED还有意义么？

另外columbia不会通知所有的其他学校，没有哪个学生值得学校花精力这么做吧？这是你自己的commitment. if you choose to break it, you break it. 损失钱，走人，没人会哭着喊着拦着你。就像离婚一样，被骂得再厉害，你也可以离的。你可以说是你结婚的时候没想清楚，但很多人还是想好了再去结婚的。

Actually I am also thinking about the outcome.

If admitted(just IF), and I definitely still want to try other schools........

But not sure if I finally chose another school even after paying for the deposite, will Columbia tell other schools and eventually I got nothing to go?

I was an admit last year, i chose another program over CBS (I turn down MBA for a JDMBA program tho) and no outcome. I just noticed the adcom about it. (Actually I still keep in touch with them and they are friendly to me even tho I didn't join them) You'll just lose the deposit if you have already deposited. The school is not going to notify other schools because basically you don't need to tell them which school did you apply other than CBS.

Early decision traditionally has a better admission rate than other rounds, that's for sure so it is good if your first choice is CBS.

好像发offer的时间大部分都比别的学校早。所以如果不想给committment的话，就申R2吧。个人觉得差别不是非常大。
