Acc Phd如果不当professor，能找到什么样的工作？

不能一概而论吧，要看你读phd前的background和读博的研究方向(your skill set)，还有你的性格

private sector的工作很多方面也没academia的工作好啊。做professor拿到tenure以后可以不做research，光教书，不那么累，每年还有三个月summer假期，而且退休晚，可以做到七十多，不用担心退休问题。我们系有个老师七十多岁还被一家综合前20的学校给挖了过去呢

if you want a private sector job, why going to a acct phd program? just because it will waive your tuition and give you 20k stipend each year? did you ever consider the opportunity cost of time?

phd program application is competitive. if you are admitted to a top 30 phd program, you have the ability to go to a top 10 master program if not better. master programs are career-oriented and more helpful in obtaining a job in private sector.
