我想问一下A选项的their 为什么可以指代monkfish, monkfish前面不是有介词 of 吗，代词不是不可以指代被介词短语修饰的名词吗？？？

首先，这题不是一道很好的题，你可以看后来这题从prep12消失了，而且再也没考过。
这题有个逻辑问题：不可比。
就好象我奶奶不懂英语一样，我懂英语。
请问，我和我奶奶是能比还是不能比？我们之间有相同点吗？

你看句子要看意思，不能只看单词啊！

你读下这句话的意思，是monkfish有可能灭绝还是cod and haddock有可能灭绝？a circumstance that contributes to their depletion through overfishing中their应该指代谁？
退一万步说，你发现后半句ABE是复数，CD是单数了吗？即使不知道monkfish是不是单复数同型，看到选项提示也应该能反应过来指代的是cod and haddock或者monkfish吧？

再后退两万步，“monkfish前面不是有介词 of 吗，代词不是不可以指代被介词短语修饰的名词吗” size of monkfish，谁修饰谁啊？是monkfish的size 还是 size的monkfish？核心词是size啊。

你本身知识有漏洞，做题不看句子的逻辑意思，还不会从选项里面看提示，题能做对才是小概率事件。

首先谢谢你的回答啦~~
不过我可能没有表达清楚，我知道这道题应该怎么做。
因为我记得以前不知道在哪里看到过代词不能指代前面有介词的名词，所以才这样问。
因为这里的monkfish前面有of，所以their不能指代monkfish。

不过这样看来，这个规律是错的，是吗
