Instruction说 Recommenders may submit recommendations either online or through the mail. Recommendations should be up to two pages each.

是说要正好两页么？还是两页之内都可以？

I haven't looked at MIT's recommendation.  I can tell you HBS's 250 word/question recommendation is actually pretty hard to write.  Good candidates have stories that are hard to describe with just 250 words.question (750 words total).

It is not the more the better but I am not sure if you can have enough content for a very good recommendation with only 1 page (500 words).  Good recommendations need stories, NOT a bunch of praising adjectives (you can find this comment from the HBS admissions blog and mentality is the same for other schools too).
