[求助]选Offer求助--Queen's MSc vs UTD PhD

Hello everyone.

I hope you can help me on this decision, this is urgent and matters a lot to my life.

I am applying to MIS MSc and PhD.

Currently I have two offers on hand,

Official offerueen's MSc in MIS, Tuition 3850*3 semesters, Offer 17,000

Offer Notice from PhD director: UTD PhD in MIS, not sure about amount of financial support, should be able to cover living expense.

I really appreciate any response of yours, in terms of academic opportunities, whether Queen's program is prestigious enough to get into a better program than UTD, and anything. Thank you.

i think if you don't have the problem of money, the queen is better. After all, the fame of PHD program you have been is very important for getting jobs.

the thing is, Queen is one year research program(3 semesters), does it mean as I begin the program, I would have to apply to 2010 fall PhD program? would that be quite rushy and hashy?

if so, it becomes hard to say.... because your background wouldn't be improved a lot..wait... if you are in China now, the recommendation letter can be better if you choose the queen...but if you are an undergraduate in US, I think that will be almost the same....

Can you share your background a little bit?

My friend did apply for MSC in Finance. He got a strong background compared with many mainland students (guess his US under is a plus) but he was rejected last year by Queens.

I know Queen's recuited 2 candidates in MIS this year. Both Chinese students. For finance, last year there is a RUC student there,(rank 1st in economy department in RUC), I have no idea about this years competition.

My bg: undergrad: top 10 school BSc in Management, MIS, GPA 3.8+

GMAT 770+5.5 ibt 113

No published paper, but some research exp.

IT, and consulting internship

I don't know about how hard it is to get into Queens, UTD neither, and I am not sure about my prospects, Queens requires response before Feb 12, while UTD should be before 4.15.

Can you guys give me some hint about it?
