Daily Review on sentence correction 12/7

I decided to take GMAT last Saturday.

Start the practice with sentence correction, which is the most though part for me.

The daily review is a reflection on all the mistakes I make. I do hope it, posting my review in the forum, a strong drive encouraging me to make a consistent effort.

Of course, I made several silly mistakes, basically due to not being careful.

Today's summary on Idioms

"A proves useful " which compares to "The wine tastes good" "The idea sounds great"
"confusion about"
"the proposal to do..." not " the proposal doing......"
"discriminate between A and B"
"liken A to B"
"intent on doing sth"
"20% of a hundred students are yellow haired"

They prefer simple tense to complex tense

the usage of "with" -- given, granted,
often occurs in a conditional construction, to make it simple and concise.

"aid in doing ...."
" the chalice which dates from 8th century"
" the three major networks each broadcast ........" to "each of the three major networks broadcasts...."

Rule

Always, Read the complete sentence!!! The hint lies, always, in the non-underlined part.

"at the invitation of ...."

Today, I did Q121--Q180. The mistakes lay mainly on "pronoun" and "articles"
It's hard to summarize these scraps, bit of this and bit of that, thus necessary to make things institutionalized.

Today, I received the OG 12th edition package that bought on Taobao, reviewed the guide lines for sentence correction, and did the first 50 sample questions.

The rate is 43 out of 50. I feel OG sample questions are easier than actual GMAT questions. Still, I made all the silly mistakes.

Guide Lines are super helpful to clear up your minds.

I'm done with the sentence correction questions in OG Verbal Review 2nd edition.

The rate on average is about 80%, far too low. 90% will be fair.

I have a strong impulse to have one day off tomorrow. But, it's not rational

worked on "SC encyclopedia", finished Q181--Q230. The rate is 38 out 50.

always remember "including" is prep.
"so that" better than "in order that"

I went on a 3-day trip to "Thousand-Island Lake", just got back last night.

finished Q321-Q600, in the three days, with a rate above 80%

I feel that the careless mistake is almost inevitable. Test makers induced us to make mistakes.

It's very hard to dodge every trap. SC demands a cool head and patience.
