离TOEFL考完已经1个星期了,可以说心情才真正的在思考与总结中平静下来,因为我还要用这次TOEFL的失败来面对下一次的GMAT的成功。因为没有考到理想的分数,本来是不想写经验的,怕误导大家,当今天随意中逛进机考区,看到大家对于JJ有所误解,所以觉得自己有责任说几句。
我报名的时候离考试有25天,中间出去旅游了十来天,到最后实际备考的时间仅仅一个星期,我是按小时来计算这最后的一个星期的,每天都复习了12-15个小时,临考试前第三天开始失眠,用安眠药也似乎没有睡着。因为时间紧张,我只准备了PP和JJ,并详细总结及分类了2个月JJ,希望能撞好运。
首先声明,这种心态和学习的方法本身就是不正确的,所以我并没有如愿考到理想分数。但是在PP的纵向、横向总结,及在JJ的分类总结中,发现了JJ的真正价值所在:
JJ最有意义的是单词
如果你看了3个月的JJ单词,你会发现单词都会遇见,其意义我就不说了,投入产出比最高。
JJ对于临考前复习是一种“指导”
如果你将 JJ分类,你会发现每个月ETS都有不同的侧重,8月份听力侧重在生物类(鱼、鸟、虫)及天文(金星、月球),可以说通过分类我预测到了,并集中进行了横听。如果你是文科生一定要补充背景知识,例如红移、蓝移、金星等。
对于听力的JJ,我的态度就是:抓方向、补充背景、横听PP。
这是我觉得ETS最公正的地方,也是最阴险的地方,大家最明明知道却最容易忽视的地方。PP涵盖了考试中所有出现的类别,我在同一时间总结PP和JJ的时候感触最深,所有的JJ都可以在PP里找到回溯对应点。那些所谓的JJ都是PP的变形,单词和思路都不会变。
PP不是用来模考的,要模也要在初期,大家在后期一定要留足时间给PP,分三段把PP作烂。PP是所有复习资料中最接近机考的,也是最重要的,大家不要舍本求末,一定要对PP中每一题有把握。以听力部分复习为例:
第一阶段 纵听,按每套题来听,规定时间,仔细分析;
第二阶段 横听,按生物、天文、地理、艺术等分类横听,总结学科单词;
第三阶段 横听,按自然科学、人文科学2个类别听,ETS出题的思路很清晰,只是我们不熟而已。
JJ的吸收在于个人总结
依靠于他人的总结,但还是要靠自己抓方向和重点,所以自己不总结是没有用的,看几遍别人的总结也是没有用的,除非那人已经把重点给你标出来了,例如我做的工作,虽然有点傻,但对大家还是应该有帮助的。
我还要在考完GMAT后重新在考一遍TOEFL,很浪费时间和金钱。所以希望大家都能一次成功,不要象我一样投机取巧,真正的提高英语的能力。在重复一遍,JJ的价值在于阅读单词及听力方向的把握,把时间都留给PP和作文把,愿大家都能在我的失败上成功!

补充:
1. 回来把我总结的PP笔记又翻了一遍,发现了一个问题:PP分TEST1和TEST2,每套题的分布是按由易到难,而test1&test2的横向难度相同,所以建议大家在第一遍的时候复习按以下顺序复习:
test1-1 test2-1 test 1-2 test2-2 test1-3 test2-3 test1-4 test2-4 test1-5 test2-5
如果按照正常顺序复习的话,在复习完TEST1后进入TEST2难度会突减,有真空感。如果复习PP的时间比较提前可以按顺序复习,但如果临考还是按难度的高低循序渐进的好。
