The rankings of two business schools are about the same. Location-wise, I would think Rochester is better. It is two-hour drive from Cornell in upstate New York, and in a driving distance to New York City, Boston, and Toronto. Nashville is really in the middle of no-where because it is too far away from the historical cultural center of U.S. in the New England area. Some labor-intensive industries are in Tennessee, mainly because the labor cost is low. For Rochester, the local industries are higher up in the chain: Kodak, Xerox, Johnson & Johnson, and Bausch Lomb. Moreover, a lot of people in University of Rochester are from New York city. You are going to pick up New York city accent instead of Southern accent. Like Chicago, winter is harsh in Rochester, but you can have good entertainment. Students often do a one-day weekend trip to Toronto for Chinese food and movies. Toronto has a very large Chinese population. University of Rochester's Eastman School of Music is ranked either No.1 or No.2 in U.S. You will often find good entertainment from students as well. |
