TWE053 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The most important aspect of a job is the money a person earns. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Job is closely related to people. Nearly everyone has had or will have a job. Then what is the very essence of a job? Different people have different answers. One of the arguments is that salary is of the most importance. In my opinion, however, I can’t agree with that. What a job can offer is not just money, so it is not wise for us to judge whether the job is good or not just by the income. A good job means an update after we left school. It should open our eyes for another way of learning, which is learning from life. Experience with colleagues is quite precious. From that, we can learn many things that we can’t learn thoroughly on campus, such as cooperation, communication, and affiliation. It provides us with teamwork and network, which benefits us a lot for self development and even benefits our offspring. A good job also means to achieve self-wealth spiritually. When enjoying the work, we can even ignore the income. The moral or mental achievement is of higher value than the material gain. Just take Van Gogh, the intelligent artist, for example. He concentrated on painting while living a poor life. And Mother Teresa, the honorable nun, devoted her whole life to help the poor of the world, regardless of her own benefit. They are memorized by their characters reflected from their work, rather than their fortune obtained from the jobs. I don’t deny that money is an important factor of a job. Money to a job is just as cover to a book. An attractive cover contributes to increase the sales. And a cheerful salary helps to improve the lives. But the decisive factor of the sales is usually the content not the cover. The same goes with work. Salary may become more meaningful after you find the deeper significance of a job. 总觉得job和work用的太多了,又不知道怎么改,请大家帮帮忙,谢谢!
