Inquiry about the marketing application

The first author in marketing research paper with American professor. (U.S. Conference/Journal)

I just want to combine the marketing PhD program with my current master program in the information area. I don't want to give up my current program in information.  (Another reason, is that I want to find a financial fund soon.) So I may apply to two to three schools around Indiana.  I don't know whether it is a good strategy at the moment. I just want to have a try again although I was rejected by many last year. 

Any good suggestions?

If it failed this year, it does not matter. I will return to the information area to look for some other chances/projects.

You'd better give up your fancy idea. It won't work.

Plus, the information(or informatics? not sure)master program at IU is not meant for serious academic training and doesn't help lot for mkt research, even if you apply to the Kelly School which is just on the same block as your dept.

Information science(information visualization/retrieval/digital library/information architecture...),different from MIS.

My marketing research paper is on the marketing strategy. My concentration in information science is social-informatics. If I did not make a mistake, two Chinese graduates huifang and xiaojing's research focus on consumer behvior. From this point, I don't think Kelly much matched to me, but just a street across my school.
