Dinged by 3 schools in 3 days

Hi XDJM,

I was dinged by HBS, Stanford, and UCLA in the last 3 days. Got in Yale earlier. Wharton R2, pending. I can't believe that UCLA turned me down. It was my backup school. I have 760/4.5 GMAT, 3.7GPA, 25 years old, work for a very well-known financial institute, 3 year w.e. at 3 different positions(climbed up the corporate ladder), good title, management experience, entrepreneur experience, made $220k off full time job and $300 k from my side investment last year. What else are they looking for? Well, good luck to you all.

ucla probably thought you were too strong. try to do better in "why school".

楼主很强，但是UCLA确实从大陆招的人太少了，福宝宝说去年UCLA在北京就只有他一个人面试。

加州那边华人不缺，所以也没必要从大陆招些华人了，我想这个也许这是个主要原因吧

不是楼主不够强，而是他们的华人已经招够了，不要质疑自己的实力！

很羡慕你已经被yale录取了，真的很恭喜！

我还在等第二轮学校的消息，没有你那么强的背景

而且目前手头一个offer都没有,（我也ding by UCLA）心里也许有不平衡但是却没有气馁，

也和很多很多战友一样看着H/S的牛人心生羡慕，也同样在焦虑，失落，痛苦的徘徊着

共勉吧，朋友们，为了不久的将来的good luck。

先comfort一下楼主.

但我不认为top 10的学校会认为有too strong for the school的. 通常都是背景, essay, 和fit的结合吧. 如果背景ok, 那essay和fit就要再挖一挖.

b-school application is very random, and sometimes your luck is even more important than the essay itself..

I was dinged by wharton in R1, which I put tremendous efforts into..

good passage...... living is hope !!! We have food and shelter is much better than previous generation.... at least we have dream to dream... dream to chase, hope to fight for, and hope is always rite there.. most important thinig is to cherish what we got rite now..... haha.. like an old man saying.. haha.. we are still young(including me)... sometimes i also really just think we are here to learn, we are here to build up our knowledge, we are learn to cherish what we got.... living is hope..... let's learn and give !!!!

Thanks for your comfort, guys. I understand that HBS and standford dinged me. But UCLA, no way! no freaking way! I applied for it primarily because my gf works there in its IT dept. I think the sufficient applicant pool is making all these top mba schools very very snubby. It's ok, we'll live.
