Forests need care. By Alex In this highly developed but overindustrialized society, humans are standing at the most critical point--- on the verge of controlling the world and on the edge of destroying it. When righteous people see the latter scenes, they give rise to a worldwide protection to our environment. Among all the troubles, I believe that forests are disappearing and need to be saved the most because they give living creatures oxygen and they are home to numerous species.
Out of fortune or necessity, our beloved home planet established the forests millions of years ago, before humans, before Ice Age, and before Jurassic or Dinosaur Age. Our own civilization began with them. For ancient people, they are home and shelters against danger; for modern people and all the living beings, they are giant perfected air-refreshing machines that yield oxygen for us. Oxygen is undoubtedly significant. If no oxygen exists, carbon dioxide will dominate our atmosphere, and our planet will become another Venus--- with barren plains and angry volcanoes on the surface and without water, without creatures, not to mention humankind. Hence, being as the most essential necessity for all creatures to survive, forests need to be protected.
In addition, humans’ reliance on trees is as old as humankind itself. Simultaneously, a variety of animals has been living in forests for eons. Today, some people are still cutting down our trees in forests. As a result, a number of animal species are endangered, and furthermore, a big number of species have become extinct. It is easily conceivable that if the rainforests in Brazil and the pine forests in Russia and Canada are wiped out from our world map, our earth will just become an inferno instead of a paradise to live. In contrast, if we come to realize that if planting trees, we can return those endangered animals a heaven to live. To be brief, as forests are home to living beings, they need to be saved.
To sum up, forests are definitely important to creatures on the Earth, and people must stop destroying forests. To leave a better world for our children, let us take actions to protect our forests. |
