要想申请米国中上等的mba(不用top多少的,差不多就行了)还需要做哪些努力工作呀?还是根本没戏了。。。。 我是cd的新手,请各位大虾指点,感激涕零~~ My background is civil engineering, well, it is not easy to get in a top MBA program as a civil engineer, espeically for the Magic 7 B-schools, why? first in the civil engineering industry or construction industry, an MBA is not a MUST, secondly, B-schools prefer engineers from telecom, chemical or bio sector. When I did my interview in UChicago, the interviewer pointed out that he never saw a student in his 400-plus class was a civil engineer. So be prepared for above negative parts if your are from civil engineering background, If your just want to get in a so-so (say 30-100) MBA program, however, any major should be OK but I would suggest you not going, maybe CEIBS or CKGSB in China is much better for your career; If you want to get in a top 8 school, you need work extra harder to make yourself unique; if you want to get in a top 20 school, you still need to work extra harder to make yourself unique, the difference is that you have more chance to get in. In your case, you are too young for a top program; unless you are a super star in college and superman in your one-year professional career, with a GMAT over 750 and a GPA over 3.8, no top 20 school will accept you, sorry, I may be too honest, but I am telling the truth. Be patient, try to get more valuable experience, switch to the business side, say project management or real estate, and get some real meat in your essays which can show your leadership. It is just a matter of time, and it is good for you to start thinking about MBA idea at your age; average age of MBAs in top 20 schools in US is around 28-29, so you still have enough time to develop yourself. |
