SOS：关于申请need -based aid

学校说我可以申请need-based aid，填表中一项是问Do you and/or your parents file anything in China that is the
equivalent of our U.S. tax returns?  If so, we will need copies of
these converted into U.S. dollars.  

我理解这是要我和爸妈的税收记录对吗？但是我已经辞职，对爸妈工作的单位（都是学校）有没有我可以调用的税收记录一无所知。还有一种选择是写个affidavit说 not required to and did not file any tax statement for the tax year ，这样好象比较省事，但我2005年是交了税的，那到底该怎样操作呢，哪位大侠有相关经验？时间急迫，望不吝告知。
