GWD1-Q21和OG49的比较疑问

答案是E啦，我选B，原因一会下面会提到

The pronoun which should be used to refer to a previously mentioned noun, not to the idea expressed in an entire clause. In A, C, and E, which seems to refer to a vague concept invol­ving the detection of moons, but there is no specific noun, such as detection, to which it can refer. Also in E, the use of the phrasing the number... now known that orbit is ungrammatical and unclear. B and D use the correct participial form, doubling, to modify the preceding clause, but D, like A, uses known as orbiting rather than known to orbit, a phrase that is more idiomatic in context. B, therefore, is the best answer.

这是当年的讨论帖，rt316老大问的问题跟我一样：我想知道在这里名词从句和has doubled是否在逻辑上匹配，dicovery和has doubled在逻辑上是否也匹配？因为两者的强调的核心主语其实不同。这道题没有被问过，想来大家都没有问题，但我却很困惑。

我看了之后完全模糊，果然只是小小弟，49那道题我是跟据XDF的规则做的，就是修饰前面一整句话用ing形式或新名词，但和这个GWD的题有什么关系呢，E选项The discovery后面跟动词has doubled符合逻辑嘛，我没想通，最多也只能说是“使翻倍”，请教大家了

GWD1-Q21:A，E的逻辑都是通的。都没有什么错误，所以E比A更好一点。

LES引用OG的意思就是告诉大家，the idea expressed in an entire clause.”是可以做逻辑主语的。

A的逻辑应该是错的吧。

主语从句引导的整个句子怎么能double 呢？

另外excavating 和excavation这个词就表明了应该排除A选项。

如果按LZ的理解，B选项其实也不能double的，能的只有数字而已

比如 The number/amount of the ceramic dog figurines... 

注意B选项的主语是figurines

这里的double真的就是使翻倍的意思，而不是比较，这种用法其实还蛮常见的

P.S.话说21也不可能是整数的2倍呀，呵呵~

再看这道题，我还是很疑惑，discovery可以做double的主语么……我始终觉得逻辑上不通

-ing分词短语在句尾：

   1）表伴随动作、状态、功能，与句子谓语动作同时发生，逻辑主语等于句子主语。
