Hi, there, now the application for 2006 has almot done. Most people applying last year have found suitable schools. Now it is time for us who will apply this year to start work. May holiday is the last chance for us to relax. After that, tough fights will start. I hope to find some friends in this fight so that the road will be easier to everybody if we can share experiences and feelings together. As a result, I want to organize a team now for those who will focus on Top 15 schools this year.
My background:
PhD from a normal US university, GMAT 760, 3 years experience, now in asset management corporation
Target: Top 5
I hope to find friends who:
1. GMAT>720 for males, >700 for females
2. 3 years experience for males, 2 years experience for females
3. motivated and ambitious
I believe if you are qualified fot the above conditions, you will have pretty good chances of Top 15 this year. I will use my experience in essays to help everyone write suitable essays to suitable schools. Some experienced IDs here, such as Cicilla and 携隐,will also help us in this application process as working as the permanent advisors for the team. I will also try to find some friends in US IBs and big companies to share their experiences with us if available.
My suggestion for this team is that we should not just focus on MBA application. In fact, application is just a relatively easy process compared with future job hunting and career development. We should start to consider these points from now on and try to increase our abilities from multi-dimensions. I will provide the following supplements to you during the whole process:
1. The whole team will speak mostly in English( I can not assure all in english. Sonetimes maybe we still need Chinese to communicate, HEHE). Oral English is in fact the most important factor for your future career in US. If you can not speak very fluent English, you will not succeed in US. As a result, I hope we can start our practice now and everyday;
2. Some useful books about US business life, including all Vault Guides and famous books such as When Genius Failed, Monkey Business, the Smartest guys in the room, heard on the street and a lot more. These readings can help you know more about the true business world and make your career goals more easily.
3. Every week's Business Week and Economist. I will also supply Fortune, Forbes and Newsweek. Of course, I am trying hard to get WSJ everyday. If I can solve this issue, I will also share with you.
4. Some DVDs and programs I believe will be useful to enhance your English expression abilities, such as all seasons for Apprentice, Late Show with Jay Leno and the daily Show
Because of the limited resources and efforts, I have to limit the number of my team to 6-8 persons. If you feel interested, please contact with me ASAP. I hope that our cooperation will be a long-term one, not just in MBA application, but also in future career development. This is the reason for me to organize this team. In fact, I believe all of us can have very good schools if we use appropriate methods in application. But if we want to make big success in future, we need more efforts and enhance our abilities through assistance from others. |
