我申请的是queen's 的PHD。以下摘自QUEEN‘S的online application help.
NOTES:
1. We require a minimum of 2 letters of references. However, you may enter the contact information for up to 4 referees. Be aware that if you enter the contact information for more than 2 referees, your application will not be considered complete until all listed references have been received.
2. If you enter a working email address for your referees, they will be contacted automatically. If you know they do not wish to be contacted via email, do not enter their email address here. Instead, type in " will send hard copy reference", or something similar.
3. If your referee does not want to submit a reference using the secure online reference form, he or she may use either the hard copy version of the reference form which you provide to him/her, from the online application site, OR a separate letter of reference on letterhead. Please instruct your referee NOT to print off the online reference form and fill it out as if it were a hard copy form—he or she should choose one of the other options, instead.
4. Some departments have special requirements regarding letters of recommendation (e.g., three letters may be required, etc.) Please consult the appropriate department's application procedures for details.
5. In most cases, we are looking for an "academic" reference—a letter of reference from a professor who has recently taught you. The online reference form, and the hard copy version of the reference form, are designed to collect this academic reference. So, the referee will be asked questions regarding your performance in his/her class, etc. However, we realize that some applicants may be professionals returning to university after periods of employment, so this standardized reference form may not be the best format for your referees. If this is the case, you should ask your referees to submit their letters of reference on letterhead instead of using the online reference form or the hard copy version of the online reference form. If your referee chooses this options, they should make sure the letter of reference is on letterhead with their original signature, and that it is sent to the laceType w:st="on">SchoollaceType> of laceName w:st="on">Graduate StudieslaceName> in a sealed envelope with the signature of the referee over the seal.
6. Photocopied or stale dated (more than 2 years old) references are unacceptable.
7. Electronic and/or hard copy letters of reference submitted as part of any and all applications become the property of Queen's University, are subject to validation, and will not be released to the applicant under any circumstance. |
