Do you agree or disagree with the following statement ? All students should be required to study art and music in secondary school.

As normal as it may seem ,students in secondary school should pay attention to their major subjects ,mathematics ,science ,for example, thereby making a better foundation for future academy. However, with the versatile improvements of society comes a great demand for versatile talents, Thus, art and music, beneficial  for students’ overall development, should require to be learning by all of them.

First of all, art and music, viewed as the essence of human wisdom, can, to some extent, be propitious to upgrading students’ cultivation, and enriching their amateur life, .I can not obliterate from my mind that time I learned music in high school. In fact, not due to our own curiosity, at first, I was only companied my friend to learn it, however, once starting learn it, I became fascinated with it quickly, from which I learned how to appreciate the melody of music right or blue, encouraging or depressing, quite different from how blindly I had listened to music before up to now, I still maintain the habit of listening to music for half an hour everyday, which contributes to allowing me to enjoy everyday happily.

      Moreover ,studying art and music, may enable some students with great talents for it, to create interests and probably pursue art or music as their career. As we all know .students are always occupied in busy courses, and have no idea what they really like or be cut out for, If given the opportunities to learn art and music, some students, probably future outstanding artists or musicians, will fully display their talents and thus determine what they should make efforts on, but not dedicate themselves to monotonous courses they show no interests in, as the majority of students.

Of course, considering that some of students have no interests on art and music, requiring them to learn music and art may, in a sense, handicap their study, and affect their developments.

    However, from all aspects, the advantages of requiring all students to study music and art in secondary school far outweigh the the disadvantages, whether it be to contribute to promoting their cultivation, or help some of them to plan their future career.
