请教一个问题关于paralegal ？

说来惭愧，来北美快一年了，结果托福没过250。自己本科是法律专业得。不想丢掉，想申请一些与法律相关得专业。前两天看到paralegal，可是感觉很不正规，他们得degree，叫associate degree。哪位好心人可以告诉我，这个是干什么得吗？还要上两年，出来也是做律师助理。好像谁都可以上，估计只是为了赚钱，而开设得这个专业吧。那个xdjm能给点建议吗？太感谢了。感觉很茫然啊。

关键看你在加拿大还是在美国？在美国的话，我同意班主的讲法。如果是加拿大，我猜想你可能过来已经算移民，那么不存在可不可以拿工作许可大问题。

美国不清楚。加拿大PARALEGAL不会有DEGREE，一般是DIPLOMA或者CERTIFICATE，通常1到2年不等。律师事务所秘书做更杂的事情，有PARALEGAL文凭的好些，做些高级的行政和事务辅助工作，事务性工作一般包括起草文件、做SEARCH或者调查等。做的手熟了，比如房地产交易等，律师会让你与客户交割文件和解释，他在后面签字而已。加拿大通常做5年的PARALEGAL，工资大约在5万到6万之间。但是如果你去中国律师事务所帮忙，钱至少少25%。

我不觉的这是每个人都能做的，至少你的英语笔头和口语要非常好，与本地人打交道的能力要非常强，不然你没有可能进老外律师事务所，你认为对一个外国人来讲那么容易做到吗？我觉得做PARALEGAL的经历会为你将来读法学有帮助，至少你熟悉了环境，认识了律师，提高了语言，不失为”曲线救国“。

痛定思痛，如果不想扔掉法律，就只能去认真准备LSAT,申请法学院，如果成绩还可以，试着申请贷款和奖学金。

如果不打算再走了，就干脆把法律忘得干干净净，重新找一个专业。

中国法律本科出身的，移民北美以后，能重新找什么专业呢？

What profession you have besides law? Good question. I always think that living in the US is a compromise between career and life. Everybody knows it's not easy for foreigners to get a decent job in the US, as least not as easy as in our home country. So it depends on the priority one set for oneself.

I want a great and respectful job? Go back home would be a better choice.

I want a free living in the US? Then stay and start from the very beginning.
