我想我还是先把自己疑问的地方自己指出来,尽量少浪费大家的时间。
122 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People are never satisfied with what they have; they always want something more or something different. Use specific reasons to support your answer.
There is much controversy over the issue of people and their satisfaction level. Some people claim that people are never satisfied with what they have, they always want something more or something new, while others advocate that people always remain satisfied, no matter they are rich or poor. On balance, I would argue that people always hold a feeling that there must be something they want but have not obtained yet.
An ancient Greek philosopher said,"There is nothing permanent except change."the society changes all the time, what people have change all the time, consequently the thinking of people should keep up with changing. Therefore, there is no reason that we just hold what we have rather than be spurred by chaning(这句用被动是不是不太好) of the world to pursue (追求用这个可以吗?)what we want.Suppose who would be still satisfied with an antique radio bought fifty years ago? even it still works well. unless the radio has special meanning to him or her, otherwise he or she might be a (an enthusiastic) collector. Practically most of people are eager to own more fashionable, more innovative, more advanced and more functional things. Based on this kind of aspiration, a large amount of invention come, as a result, human civilization upgrades day by day. That is, The(加吗?) development of society proved that people are never satisfied with what they have.
Another reason why I advocate that people are never satified with what they have lies on a relationship between an ambition and an effort. It is primarily after spurred by(应该加吗?) great ambition that one tries to make an effort to achieve the goal of what they want. Some scientists' efforts are good examples: because they hold an ambition that they must get the best result, they experiment with new methods hundreds of times, resulting in the better they get (是不是改成outcome更好些). It seems that there is a mutual reinforcement between ambition and effort, therefore, never being satisfied always means a big probability of (更大的可能性可否这么表达呢?)a strong desire to make more efforts.
Moreover, it is interesting to note that people satisfied with everything, in fact, are always losers. maybe they always said to others: "I am really satisfied with all I have, the innovative thing are not attractive to me(后加的)." In my opinion, what causes this is a kind of inferiority complex.(自卑情结在作祟怎么表达更地道呢) it seems that there is no hope to get what they want, so they abandoned what they want originally. it does not mean that this kind of people are satisfied with all they have, on contrary, they also want to get more instead.
To conclude, when one see (gives a glance) the change of world, when one make an effort to feed the hunger of money, when one feel desperation with what he or she really want to own, he or she alway are(is) never satisfied with all they have, I believe that if one saw the fast change arround us, no one would give the scene a second thought.
结尾段红色的句子是不是重复了?
