请教三题

1.by 1872 the United States had 70 engineering colleges, ________ surprising expansion credited largely to the Morrill Act of 1862.

2.by paying attention to the interesting,________ the significant, the penny press newspapers of the 1830's helped to change the concept of news.


a.which does not necessarily          b.not necessarily

第一题,我觉得没有一个完全正确,书的答案是b,不解


第二题,如果a选项是which is not necessarily可否选,正确答案是b


第三题,considerably改为considerable,它是否修饰abilities.

are you  sure b is  " an "   ? in  my opinion  maybe  "a "


by 1872 the United States had 70 engineering colleges, "a "surprising expansion which is (credited largely to the Morrill Act of 1862.)


名词短语。。。sth be   credited  to sth .....归功于......

a.which does not necessarily          b.not necessarily


c.was not necessarily                    d.not necessarily being



3.human be


第二题,如果a选项是which is not necessarily可否选,正确答案是b

第一题,我觉得没有一个完全正确,书的答案是b,不解

是的  这里你记住 considerably 如修饰adj时 一般只修饰表程度的adj

我到认为是定语从局的省略. ( which is) necessarily the significant


第三题,比较级higher(而且后面没有范围限定.)前为什么加the?

第一题真的不能选an surprising expansion 是不是啊?


原因是否为不定冠词要跟紧接后面的词,这里是surprising ,所以只能用a,


而不是跟后面的expansion,要不然就用an了
