A portion of people hold the opinion that learning about the past has no value for those of us living in the present. They think we need not to know what happened in the past years. Past days are no sense to us today. I could not agree with this point. There are several reasons as flow why I disagree with it.

The main reason why I disagree with the point that learning about past has no value for those of us today is because forgetting yesterday is meaning to betray ourselves. In the last a hundred yeas, there are so many enemies invade our country, robbing our wealthy. We lost not only our property but also our position in the world. How many people lost their lives, how can we forget the history. If we forget it, the history will be again.

Another reason why I disagree with the above statement is that we can value today’s life by comparing with the past. Many people complain what terrible life they are living. They never consider being thankful to the parents and society for life. By learning about the past, we will know what the life is like in the past and how fortunately we are.

In addition, learning about the past also can predict the future. History is always circulating. We can get information from history when we are in a dilemma. We can try to look into the history. Maybe our ancestor had already given the answer us. There was one guy in the past said that we can use the history as a mirror to today.

Therefore, taking into account of all these reasons mentioned above. For me, I would never agree with that learning about the past has no value for those of us living in the present
