TWE182

Many people have a close relationship with their pets. These people treat their birds, cats, or other animals as members of their family. In your opinion, are such relationships good? Why or why not? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

With the prevalence of pets in our modern society, more and more people begin to treat their favored animals as members of their family along with only as their pets.(这里的with后还可跟其他副词或介词,再加名词吗?) As far as I am concerned, such relationships are not sagacious enough for us, because there are too many detrimental factors outnumber its benefits to support it. There are numerous reasons why I consider it is not a good relationship, and I will explain a couple of important and obvious ones here.

The first and foremost, paying too much attention or even being obsessed by the pets must weaken the emotions among the folks and relatives, especially in the extended family. Here is a real vivid example for myself. As I was brought up in a Chinese traditional big family, I have been enjoying the warm and lively life since I had my own clear memories. My kindly grandfather was so impressible for me and my younger sister and brother even several years ago. Yet was not everything changed until a green parrot came into my family, which nearly took the place of us in our dear grandfather’s heart so quickly.  I was so sad that even all of us kids attempted to drive the annoying bird away, contrarily, we were separated from grandfather by our parents. It is really unfortunate memory of me merely owing to a single bird.

A further reason is that sometimes the pets would bring us awful illnesses. For instance, it is said that some bacteria concealing around the cats will cause the pregnant women to give birth to their babies abnormally, which is really miserable for human beings.  Another popular example will convince most of us that a special “flu” leading by some poultries almost disturbed our routine daily life and made most people upset day and night, especially people who lived with a lovely duck or goose. Virtually, large numbers of sicknesses are still not predicable by the doctors and scientists, so what we should do is just trying our best to keep the pets and ourselves clean, meanwhile, being cautious to any abnormal symptom as prompt as possible.

In addition, with the constant changing of interests of people, various animals have been invited into our families. For instance, pigs, snakes, and even raccoons, have been the new members of pets, which maybe give rise to the variation of certain species sooner or later. Probably millions of years later, our descendants will never seen some sorts of the animals again which is so common today, because of the elimination within the natural competition throughout a long period.

Admittedly, some old persons leading an isolated life still feel cheerful and comfortable with the pets , especially who have no offspring.

In the last analysis, without doubt, animals are our friends. But from the above discussion, it  is not difficult to draw the conclusion that a close relationship with pets was not as really good as most people think.

这个帖子还没经版主和T友仔细批改过,自己不顶一下 恐怕又要沉没于帖子堆啦;
