题目：To solvethe present and future problems, it is necessary to understand the past.

Philosophically,everything in the world has a close contact with anything else everywhere. The author'sstatement about the past background and history's role in addressing presentand future problems tends to be a definite position. Well, the claim isreasonable when it comes to such incidents, for example, especially thepolitical ones, that have close and inseparable relationship with the pasthistory. However, it fails to consider that not all the issues can not get ridof the past. Basically, lots of diverse new things show up everyday at present,in future years as well. Also, the past owned different condition and situationwith current society.  Therefore, thestatement is circumscribed.

       To start with, the first reason why Ioppose the author's opinion is the global background-like the informationexplosion era, advanced technology and improvement of internationalcooperation, etc. In fact, in this day and age, numerous problems, resultedfrom the advancement of technology and increase of intense strain among manyother countries and scarcity of awareness on global culture, could be eliminatedby collaboration of different states. If you take a close look at my point, youcould see that not only do the problems not exist before but also the past donot share the same universal situation. Thus, nothing could be learned from thepast about such confusion.   

      Second, another reason we should takeinto consideration is the societal environment. Without doubt, all what we canname about the widespread phenomenon is the booming population, thedeterioration of environment, the decrease of natural resources and the lessface to face communication among people and so on. Definitely these objectivefactors are nothing but vital elements that could give rise to problems. Basedon this changeable occasion do you think we humankind could still follow themeasure adopted before to solve the problem? The answer entirely do not need deep analysis. Concrete methods aresupposed to be carried out accordingly. Take the environment and tourism inchina for example, in order to develop its economy in the past, the governmentstrongly encouraged the tourism, which consumed lots of natural resources andbrought serious pollution to environment. Whereas, nowadays china has to adoptother means, instead of the previous means, to stir economic development in lightof the limited resources and alleviation of environmental contamination. Thiscase illustrates there is no use understanding unpractical old times for thatthe societal situation has changed.

       Granted, to better scrutinize and solve thepresent and future problems, it sometimes really need people to dig the pastbackground and keep track on them like some long-term issues. The mattersusually develop step by step, day by day as well and call for a standingmanagement. Here the well-known example comes to my mind-that is globalwarming. This is a long-range problem caused by large amounts of fuel burning,increase of car exhaust, and the booming population. It is a durable process indemand of lasting control. Apparently, the comparison between the historicaldocument and the current data can bring us more meaningful enlightenment andguidance. Finally, we can deal with problems more completely.

    To sum up, the specific questions needdifferent analysis. It is unwise for us to make a sweeping generalization thatthe past has to be understood in order to solve future and current problems. Ofcourse, we could draw on the experience from the past. But blindly adherenceindicates nothing but stupid. Only on the basis of societal background andglobal strategy can we come up with the proper method and conquer theobstacles.
