With the development of economy in thesedays, some people make a point that all high school students should take abasic economics course. Although some people disagree with it, I cannot agreewith the propose more.

To begin with, to earn some knowledge of economicscan to some degree broaden the horizon of the high school students. Students shouldlearn not only the knowledge of basic subjects, but also others like economicscourse which will benefit them in the future. Besides, it is important for themto get information of different fields so that they can choose the majors whichthey really interest in when they enter colleges or universities. One of myfriends, for example, is learning economy in Fudan University. However, hisfirst major was mechanical engineering. If he had learnt economy which is hisfavorite at high school, he would not have to waste time to exchange his majorin the first year at university. So I think it is necessary for all high schoollearn some economical knowledge.

In addition, it can help students know howto arrange the finance. By learning some basic economics course, they canobtain some knowledge about how to make budget planning and how to use theirmoney wisely, since their parents may have little time to teach them. When Iwas a high school student, I got some pocket money from my parents to bay mybreakfast. However, I spent all the money on clothes so that I had to bearhunger. The economical course can teach them to make ends meet earlier. Thus, Iagree with the point that high schools should set up a basic economics course.

Admittedly, some people hold the opinionthat it is unnecessary for all high school students to take a basic economic course;since they think that the students have limit time in school so that they shouldfocus their attention on the basic courses such as math, history and so on. ButI think it is unreasonable, because the course just offers basic principle and doesn’tcost little time of the students.
