Hi there, buddy. I think it’s necessary to clarify the difference between MSF and MFE programs. MSF is a PURE finance program. You will focus on corporate finance, accounting, financial planning, capital market sales and trading, or banking. MFE is more like a math or IT program. You will focus on how to use math models or coding to solve finance programs. You need a better engineering or science background for this. And, more importantly, they lead to very different career paths. So you’d better know what do you want to do before applying. To you specific question, the program in UMich has a very good reputation in the industry and GREAT alumni connections. It focuses on math and academics more, and students most likely will do quantitative analysts in banks or trading firms. The MSF programs in Rochester and St. Louis are also top-tier programs, but graduates do corporate finance more after the programs. Hope this helps you decide!
