Hello there good sir. You have a lot of questions, and we’ll do our best to answer them. First of all, an MBA can totally get you want you want – a jump in either salary or position or likely both. So that makes sense for you. A Masters in Accounting or Finance can also be right for you. You have to find the thing that matches you most. If what you love more than anything else, and what you are good at, is back office number-crunching than maybe a Masters in Finance can be right for you. However, if your dream is to move up to more managerial roles, and work on operations, strategy, that sort of thing, then it’s the MBA. If BOTH interest you then you can apply to both types of programs and decide later! J (Plus, these programs have lots in common, so often, for finance people, they can both lead you to the same goals) As for US vs. China. For the moment the US schools have a lot more strength and prestige, and from what I understand the Post-MBA jobs are a bit better paid in the US. Who knows what will happen in 50 years though? The Dragon is rising! Like they like to write on the cover of the economist always J. And at 30, you are at a good age. A bit older than some students, but still a totally traditional age to do an MBA. So if this interests you, go for it! Plus there’s a nice added advantage about being away for 2 years learning new things and meeting new people: That it can give you some time to “un-confuse” yourself. And during those two years you’ll get so many great opportunities to do new things, that you can discover what you want. Hope this helps my friend , aaaand best of luck out there
