First of all, a 710 is an AWESOME score! One thing we see a lot from Chinese students is that there is this impression that getting a 770 will magically get you into business school. It's just not true. Sure, having a higher score helps, but really once you pass the 700 threshold you can reasonably apply and hope for a place at ANY business program. From my experience, what matters MUCH more than a few more points on the GMAT is your work experience, your leadership experience, your success in your career, the clarity of your vision and goals, and the depth of your story. THOSE are the candidates who get in everywhere. So with a 710 you are very close to the mean score of all top schools, and at this point you don't need to retake. In fact I would even say that it is a mistake at this point, because schools have already started to release their essay questions, which means that it is time to get WRITING!
Secondly, at 30 years old you are NOT too old. Its true that some schools (notably HBS and Stanford) do prefer their candidates a bit younger, but 30 is totally normal.
Thirdly regarding your question r.e. the industry. Your industry would be: Corporate Finance. I think that if you presented goals to move into another Finance sub-industry you could easily make a solid case.
R.e. what type of school, it's hard to say without seeing your FULL profile. A M7 should be in range with that great GMAT score and your long experience.
