With the development of a country, it is crucial for a country to perfect its laws at the same time. And when it comes to the social laws, people often hold different points. Many people argue that it is important for a person to obey the laws which can be determined as fairy, while ignoring the laws that can be classified as unfair laws. As far as I am concerned, the argument mentioned above is incorrect. And my reasons are as follows.
Firstly, I would like to say that there is no obvious boundary between the so-called fair and unfair laws. When a country passes a law, its purpose is to make everything in order. For example, a marriage law, which orders men not to get married before 22 years old and women not to do so before 20, has passed, its purpose is to avoid early marriage and to limit the total population. Some people think it is meaningful to obey it, while some other people do not think so, arguing that it is better to get married earlier than the legal age. These people mentioned latter may think that the marriage law is unfair to them. But one cannot determine whether a law is fair or not only based on the voice of a small amount of people.
To explaining the phenomenon further, I would say that different people have different ideas towards the same incident. Some of them may think it fair, while others may think it in an opposite way. Every law may bring about some benefits to some people, while damaging some other people’s benefits. For example, when a country passed a law which ordered some cities to increase the green belts, this law will be good to the citizens’ health. But in the opposite point, it may damage the benefits of farmers, because to transform the farm lands into the green lands had to ruin the farmers’ own lands. And the farmers will surely be against the law.
So I have to reassert the functions of the laws. The laws are made to keep the society in order, and every law that has been passed would surely have its sense. When passing a law, the officials have to make much efforts on it, and they surely take the benefits of most of people into consideration. There exists no law which could cater everyone’s hope. So looking from a whole, a law can be useful for the whole society. If everyone judge a law according to his or her own standard, then the whole society may become instable.
Although I have to admit that there are some of the laws which may not be effective enough, I will mention that the laws are always developing with the development of the society, so each of us should be optimistic to the social laws.
From the reasons above, it comes into a conclusion that there is no law which can be determined as fair or unfair, and every law has its meanings. So each of us should obey the laws, though it may not be perfect from now on view.
