答案是a吧？

Rivaling the pyramids of Egypt or even the ancient cities of the Maya as ［an achievement］。

doing开头的句子。要修饰逗号后面的主语。这个句子的关键可以看出，lz要找的是1个类似an achievement的东西，对吧？

那么只有a是符合的喽。

如果是c， it没有具体指出是神马东西，当然不能被修饰喽。

比较对象要一致啊，前面金字塔，玛雅古城都是具体的古迹，要比较对象都是古迹才能进行比较，c项的主语跟比较对象不一致嘛，所以不能选

LZ你看C的主语是it，但是实际上他是一个形式主语，即真正主语是to create an army of terra-cotta warriors, 而前面的Rivaling是修饰主语的，即it所代表的这个东西，语意不对，所以应该把主句的表达顺序变一下，变成A这种the army of terra-cotta warriors作主语的。

前面是rivaling开头，要考虑逻辑主语

B的逻辑主语不合理
