Columbia apply now... too late?

Hello my dear CDers, I have an important decision to make and I would love to hear some opinions. I am deciding whether I should till apply for Columbia at this point. If I do decide to start the essays now, I am estimating the time I can submit is around Feb 20 (my 2 recommendations have been sent in). The rolling deadline is April - is it worth it to still try at this point?

My rough background is G730, GPA 3.82, female American citizen born in Taiwan, currently in 4th year career, 2 years as Assistant Operations Manager in Apparel Production, same company from college graduation until now. So far I have been accepted by BU with $70,000 scholarship and UW with $10,000. UT Austin waitlisted.

Any feedback will be helpful. Thank you!

chances are not as great as ED. but if you've got the time, and you can afford the $250 fee, why not give it a shot. it's worth finding out. just my 2 cents.

Chances for int'l applicants in R3 are pretty slim, but should be worth trying for American citizen.

i think you can apply, coz you don't have any visa issues. so why not?
The ONLY problem(according to school websites) for discouraging to apply R3 is difficult to get a US visa within 2 months for international students.

I'd suggest that you Do your essays NOW and waste no time 'cause there's still some time until the deadline which means you still have a chance....However, CBS is never short of applicants, do carefully polish your essays, state clearly your motivation to go business school and differentiate yourself to show what YOU can bring on the table...

Hey there—I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But…this will be a HUGE stretch for you. It is SO late in the game for CBS. If I were you, I would wait til next year. Any chance you could defer BU? Your chances at CBS would be so low to be honest—that is perhaps the school where it’s MOST important that you apply early. I mean, Early Decision, early. Now it is so late in the game, you will be at a true disadvantage. If you do choose to apply, which is difficult (but possible) be sure that you address the obvious question “why have you waited this long to apply.” That will be the main thing on the minds of the CBS adcom…
