174. Every generation of people isdifferent in important ways. How is your generation different from yourparent's generation? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your answer.
How many differences between our generationand our parents'? When confronted with this question, numerous answers comeinto people's mind. Some people point out their viewpoints in terms ofmaterials aspects of these changes, while others, in the other aspects, focuson the spiritual aspect. But to be frankly, I prefer to say that both these twoaspects play an important role in these variations of recent decades, it isbecause of their combination can our society be development and transformationfrom good to better. Among the numerous points I want to demonstrate, herefollows reasons which I think contribute most to these two aspects.
In the first place, as the world's rapiddevelopment in economics and technology, a growing number of new technical skillsand tools are created in order to lead our life more efficiency and comfortablethan our parents' generation. For instance, in today's electrical equipmentmarket, the full-automation washing machine nearly makes up all the relatedmachine being on sale, however, the washing machine which is used 20 years agodo have only one function of washing, we need pay extraordinary efforts todrying clothes and waiting to change the dirty water. It is the technology wholeads to all these positive changes in our life. Another case also presents thetransformation in these decades, for example, there is only black-whitetelevision when my parents are young, but now so many different kinds of colorTV such as, LCD or digital, display a shark contrast with the situation in thepast. Thus, we cannot deny the fact that it is sure our generation has many importantdifferentials from our parents' generation in terms of materials aspect.
What's more, when we turn into the mentalside of these two generations, it is obvious that we have many differentials inour thinking model as well as world view and value. People seems being morespirit of adventure and thinking beyond the traditional view, and it seems thatthe majority of the young generation are inclined to pursue the things freshand excitement, which is fairly contrary to our parents' generation, who valuespractical and responsible most in their mind. Moreover, another thing should bementioned, in terms of spirit aspect, is that the media conducts more varietyways to influence people's mind and life than our parents' generation. Moreover,more and more new media formats have been applicated around us to make ourlives more colorful. It is all these changes which have a great influence onpeople's mental world.
After combining all the reasons mentionedabove, we could come to the final conclusion that our generation does reallyhave significant changes in various aspects of our materials and mental lives.For a better development of our human society, we should carry on theseadvantages and try to avoid these disadvantages when we face so many changes inour lives. |
