有人申请CMU的HEINZ吗？

在准备申请材料，发现他家的要求有点古怪，有三个必写文书，要求如下：
Required essays. 1. A 1000-word essay describing your background, your career goals and how the program will help you achieve your goals. 2. A 1000-word essay describing your personal motivation, values, and goals. How do these relate to your research interests and ambitions? 3. A 1000-word essay describing a potential research project you would be interested in completing. In particular, describe the idea, why it is important (and to whom), and preliminary ideas on how you would go about conducting the research. Describe the main questions to be investigated and what kinds of evidence would be needed to support conclusions.
第三个还好说，就是研究计划。那第一个和第二个有什么区别呀? 觉得明明是把一篇statement of purpose的东西要生生拆成两篇，他们是怎么想的呀？
