申请phd求定位

楼上握爪~
不过我一个在米国的阿姨帮我挑的学校也是乐观的让我害怕。。。。还一个劲儿的说要对自己有信心神马的。

我还是觉得再有自知之明的情况下要乐观些才好，因为有时候说不定你哪里就对了学校的眼。每个人都总有点跟别人不一样的地方，所以成功是不可复制的，失败也不是把条件一摆出来就能知道的。

我就是感叹下这个版突然变乐观了，以前一有定位帖就开始狂轰乱炸，现在估计是因为那个吵架帖，大家收敛了。

我也是想说之前版里本科求定位的帖子都被告知一百名以后的学校之类的，或者就是先去读个欧洲的研究类。所以觉着这个帖子上面的留言好乐观的说。。。。。

最近整版变乐观了，你看其它几个定位帖也比较乐观。女友进了前30那个吵架帖功不可没啊~

B-School PhD application, in general, is quite harsh, so I would guess those negative comments in expectation contains more information than simply encouraging or optimistic opinions. And those pessimistic insiders are in general vulnerable to those endless and annoying debate(busy with research, or simply has less incentive since they won't apply anymore).
Yes, people love positive comments and now this is a happy land full of questions like "what is AP stands for?" LOL Is this a good forum u want?
Check those pessimistic IDs disappear those days and how informative they used to be(many of them are not nice, indeed), and enjoy this happy time

“功不可没”不过调侃一下，何必那么认真呢。而且中文“功不可没”可褒可贬。
不得不说以前一些定位帖确实过于刻薄了，而且也不是认真提供信息，比如上来就100以后，有些项目有没有100个都是个问题或者排名100以后的学校都没开。
你说的过去的pessimistic IDs没有走啊，最近的乐观帖有看到熟悉的ID。

其实个人认为定位别人和让别人定位自己都不是很靠谱，毕竟有太多没有摆出来的隐藏信息。
帮LZ分析分析，提供些背景类似的例子就很好，没有必要，你只能申多少多少，这个谁说得准呢，说好了LZ太自信了，说坏了LZ都不敢申了。
而且，“你申100以后吧”和“你可以试试前50”，不觉得后者更好些么？
