Certain things could never be verified. For example, if you say you fought a disease, who knows it was 3 yr or 5 yr ago? (And really, does it matter?) There is no way background check could check that out. Doctor-patient confidentially is well respected in the US and it takes a court order to crack it. I don't think bschool would go that far for no obvious reasons. Let's face it. Tons of applicants make up emotional essay stories. You know it, I know it, and adcom knows it. It really depends on whether you have the balls to do it and whether your conscience let you sleep well in the night Again, I am not encouraging/discouraging you to bend the truth in your favor. You are a grown-up, so weigh your own options. -- by 会员 windmaple (2011/8/24 14:31:15)
well, actually I am not going to cheat. I just feel the story happened 4 years ago fit one topic perfectly that I felt very reluctant to drop it because of 3 year limitation. I may feel not sleep well at night, cause I will be worried about whether Stanford considers the 3 year limitation very seriously. |
