While it is true that employers may look at a person's potential, majority of them are not that patient.

My point is especially written to remind LZ that schools ranking in 2nd or 3rd tier pay more attention to student's previous working experience.

If an applicant is very strong (exceptional GPA, exceptional leadership experience, internship experience), of course, he/she can try best schools, including HBS and Stanford.

后面一点的学校可以读,给钱随便上

后面一点 - if you do not have WE, you probably won't be able to find a job to justify your return of investment.

While it is true that everyone should think about their post-MBA options in a responsible manner, I haven't seen employers ignoring MBA candidates simply because of a lack of work experience. Most understand that there is a rigorous selection process prior to getting into business school, and so I've seen younger MBA grads working in PE, VC, IB, Consulting- you name it, they've done it.

Everyone has a different point of differentiation. When you're younger, for instance, you can more plausibly claim to be willing to stay with a company who has groomed you for a longer period of time. Some also can market themselves as more eager, more willing to do the dirty work, and having less concerns about family/ spouses/ children.

Of course, there are disadvantages to not having experience either, but bear in mind many career changers also seek for new jobs with little transferable professional experience.  What tends to translate better between jobs are skill-sets- an analytical mind, leadership ability, EQ, etc. Not coincidentally, possession of these traits is exactly what gets you into a good business school programme. As long as you have these traits (and your presence in a good business school is some evidence of that), then some employers are more open to you having less Work Experience. Others (eg. General Management jobs looking for 5-8 years of WE as a minimum) may not be as receptive, though.
