没看懂这篇阅读的最后内容
An individual's success in propagating his or her genes can be affected by more than just his or her own personal reproductive success. Because close relatives have many of the same genes, animals that harm their close relatives may in effect be destroying some of their own genes. Therefore, a begging nestling that secures food at the expense of its siblings might actually leave behind fewer copies of its genes overall than it might otherwise.

这是我的理解。请同学们指正

一个个体基因传递的成功可以被不仅仅自己繁殖的成功而影响（即别的个体也能帮这他传递这些基因）。因为近亲有很多相同的基因，动物伤害自己的近亲就等于要影响自己的基因（影响自己的基因传递）。因此，一个乞求的未离巢的小鸟保证食物给他的兄弟，也许实际上，比他吃掉他兄弟的食物，可以为他多留下少数基因。（就是没让他兄弟饿死，可以保证基因传递）
