Hey there. Happy to answer this question—YES! It will definitely help. The key though is to do more than just volunteer. Ideally you will have some LEADERSHIP experience to speak of as well! That would be idea, so that you can show that you have a good heart, but that even when volunteering you can portray some leadership. If you can combine these two ideas—volunteering and leadership—you will be in great shape.
