USC 2004 Update

attic, I find a problem on housing in USC.  If you choose live around the school ( walk distance), then you choose to live in a very dangerouse area.    Otherwise, you have to buy a car if live in other neibourhood.  Is it true?

Moreover, is it possible to live on-campus and still have my own bed-room?

Josie, the housing within walking distance around UCS is not very safe, but not that dangerous as most of you imagined. Most 1st and 2nd year international students esp. Chinese students are living around school and commuting with bike. It is very convient and time-saving.

BTW, in the 2nd year all the chinese students bought a car for their convience and enjoyment. A used car will cost you $1000-$20,000 depend on your expection from the car.

Most of Chinese student find their house in these area with price range from $300- $1500 depended on your budget. For the on campus residence, I have heard that it is very competitive, you might need to apply at least 6 months before the orientation beign.

另外，停车证是否每个学期都可申请？若没有私车，住在哪些区域交通相对方便？若刚到LA时没有找好住处该如何安顿，学校周围宾馆的价格如何？
