Many people have mentioned it already, but you're missing the biggest part of the story: the three "whys". Only through that can we begin to see how you think and make decisions (what better way, than to see how you make a decision on one of the most important choices of your life so far?)
Certificates like CFAIII, etc, don't seem to have very much effect. Sure, they show you work hard. But then many many people have such certificates. But many people also don't have such certificates and are not penalised- since they're simply not needed in many industries.
I have seen classmates admitted to Wharton with GPAs as low as yours. They are extremely impressive individuals who would have given well-thought out, mature answers to questions like the three "whys".
