关于上司的问题:上司的上司算不算direct supervisor?

有些学校要求1 letter from your current direct supervisor

请问上司的上司算不算?

我头顶上的这位不会英语啊.

当然不算

Technically no.  But if he/she knows you well enough and is willing to claim to be your direct manager and write your recommendation then let him/her write it!

Not that many people end up using all direct managers for their recommendation for various reasons (many just don't want their direct manager know that they are applying to MBA).  As long as this person can write a good recommendation (knowing your strengths, improvements, and weaknesses), then let him/her do it.
