申请MBA准备:有无必要先修一些课程

生物BS, MS背景，无Econ/Business/Accounting/Finance背景, GMAT 720/5.0
在美国bio-tech公司作product manager 2年，想申请2010 Fall MBA (方向GM or PE)
请问现在去community college修些accounting, finance的课程，是否对申请有些帮助？

well i think it is no harm to learn acct/fnce before you apply, however don't know to what extent it will help your application. Schools understand that not everyone has acct/fnce/marketing backgrounds and that's one of the reasons people go to bschools. Most schools have core curriculum for students without academic backgrounds in business.

Sometimes when people have poor grades in college, they work on an 'alternate transcript' by taking some quant-heavy classes (eg. Math) at a college level to show that they have the quants to compete. That could help, if the adcom's major question mark for you with regards to intellectual/academic ability is your capacity to handle quant.

Otherwise, learning business itself usually is not useful for schools' admission considerations. They want to see you can handle lots of quantitative data, and not necessarily that you'll make a good accountant, strategist, etc.
