The author neglects that maybe only several workers in the factory in Cookville can produce ten drill bits for each dollar, so the production capability of this factory have come to the level that can not be surpassed. Thus, devoting the Cookville factory entirely to drill bit production does not necessarily result in the reduction of the overall drill bit production costs.

2.Even if the overall drill bit production costs can be reduced, it doesn't mean that the overall production costs will be reduced. 

3. The author fails to support his assertion that reducing the prduction costs of individual machine parts is the only way to achieve the larger goal of reducing the overall producion costs. Other possible factors are also contributed to this goal..
