First, Congratulations.

It is a very young university (1960) and its Rady School of management is like a baby (first class just graduated). This is why you cannot find it in any ranking system - it generally takes about 5 years for an MBA program to be even considered for ranking. However I was told that the director of its MBA program is an ex-chairperson (or some similar position) of the ranking system, so they are pretty confident that they will get a good ranking when they are qualified for it.

UCSD is very strong in engineering and biotech, and the whole San Diego area is like a sillicon valley for biotech/pharma. So if you want to work in this area, UCSD is a good place to go. But given the sheer small number of its alumni, you may be in a relatively weak position in networking, comapring to other older B-schools.

my background is: bachelor in business, 3yr w/e, sales/team management, wanna further explore in the unlimited healthcare industry.

My impression is that UCI has well established system-everything seems on track, while UCSD is quite new to nail down everything but they are with great passion-everybody has confidence of Rady future and wanna "make something happen". I always feel excited for something unpredicted but with potential. Shall I take risk again this time?

(I asked the school to extend deadline from last week to this week, so still open to discuss)

I am not in B-school, but I am in UCSD (PhD), so I want to talk a little bit about this U. Thanks! Are you studying business?
